This morning’s devotion was especially eye-opening! See the scripture afterward.
The situations you face today can either build you up or tear you down. The good news is-you have a choice in the matter. Either you can invite God to work through your circumstances to develop your faith and character, or you can permit the problems to control you. The key is in who you allowed to interpret what happens to you.
Dr. Charles Stanley, Every Day In His Presence
Everyone who hears My words and ·obeys [acts on; practices] them is like a ·wise [sensible] man who built his house on rock. It rained hard, the ·floods came [rivers rose], and the winds blew and ·hit [beat; slammed against] that house. But it did not ·fall [collapse], because it was built on rock.
Matthew 7:24-25 EXB
I know that, in my own issues, I can do one of two things (or flip-flop between):
- either I try to maintain control, especially when answers don’t come right away, or
- I “hide my head under the covers” hoping it will go away.
Jesus is our rock! Will you build your house (yourself, your spirit life, your family) upon Jesus, our Rock?
